I have found that the foiling has been slightly temperamental depending on what stock you use. You can see below the difference between the quality of the gold. The off white card has more texture to it than the smooth white paper, which i think makes it harder for the foil to stick the paper.
I spray painted an envelope to give it a silver metallic colour to reflect the foiled effected.
