I came across an illusion called the cafe wall illusion. The black and white squares are separated with a grey line. The grey line appears to be slanted, when infact it is perfectly straight. I liked this illusion and thought about using it as a basis for a typeface. This is the start of my development.
When you take the created typeface away from the grid it leaves you with a blurred feel to it which I think is effective.
